Allah (‘azza wa jal; The Possessor of Complete Glory and Majesty) reminds us in the Glorious Qur’an: “O believers! When you rise up for prayer, wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, wipe your heads, and wash your feet to the ankles.” [Surah Ma’idah 5:6]
It was narrated that Humran bin Aban (رضي الله عنه) said: We were with `Uthman bin `Affan (رضي الله عنه), he called for water and did wudu. When he had finished his wudu, he smiled and said: ‘Do you know why I smiled?’ He said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did wudu as I just did wudu, then he smiled and said: “Do you know why I smiled?” we said: Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ) know best. He said: “If a person does wudu and completes his wudu, then he starts to pray and completes his prayer, he will come out of his prayer free of sin as he came out of his mother`s womb.” [Musnad Ahmad 430, Book 4, Hadith 28]
Can you imagine being free from sin just as you were the day you were born? This opportunity is afforded to us all every day at least 5 times a day. Simply concentrate on your Wudu and make it perfectly, then pray sincerely and have hope in Allah. Such is His mercy, that the smallest of efforts have the greatest of rewards, if only we paid heed to them. Alhamdulillah for Allah’s Mercy upon all of us
"Who is like you, O son of Adam? Whenever you wish you use water to make ablution, go the place of worship and thus enter the presence of you Lord (i.e. start praying) without a barrier between you and Him!"
Abu Bakr bin Abdullah al Muzani(rahimuhullah; may Allah have mercy on him)
